When you think of prehistory the image that immediately pops into your head is that of a tall muscular man who survives in the wild with only his strength to guide him. He probably looks like a body builder who wore furs and primarily ate meat. This is an almost total lie based on dumb masculine ideas of how society should work instead of the realistic and nuanced people they really were. The first problem is that most of them did not live in caves for a couple of reasons
1. It’s hard to find food in caves. Pre-historic men needed to get food and Caves tend to have very little of it. Most caves are located in rough mountainous areas with few animals for hunting. This meant that if someone was to live in a cave they would have to walk miles every day to get food.
2. Women existed and were more than mates. In fact they probably provided the bulk of food as most archeology evidence suggests that most nutrition was in the form of gathered plants and that hunting was just a way to supplement protein.
3. They mostly didn't live in caves. Caves lack access to food and clean water while keeping you far apart from your food source of vegetables. They mostly lived in huts that they would often break down and rebuild somewhere else. The only reason we think that they lived in caves is because the people who wrote the history books wanted us to have a masculine idea of tough ancestor who lived in caves instead of the people who they were
